Elaine McGhee

Hi, I’m Elaine. I’ve lived many lives in the past few years: full-time working mom, cancer survivor, “roadschool” teacher, fulltime RVer, Reiki Master and Artist.

It’s been a journey to get here. In fact it’s been a 13,000 mile family RV trip across 22 states kind of journey. On the day that we were going to sell our house to kick-off this trip of a lifetime, I was diagnosed with cancer. That kind of surprising and devastating news throws your life off the rails and can send you down one of two paths. Either a path of resistance or a path of acceptance and transformation. I choose transformation (or rather, transformation choose me.)

Thankfully I have a wonderful husband, family and friend network that supported me through that dark time. After delaying the home sale and having surgery, we were finally off to explore. It was the first time in a my adult life that I had a break. After 15 years in corporate jobs, I had hit major burnout. I was ready to soak in all the wild and wonderful experiences across America. With this newly found way of life, I was able to connect with nature in a deep way and to sample various healing modalities across the US.

I received Reiki prior to my first surgery at the recommendation of my co-worker and later Reiki Master Teacher. It was a profoundly moving, deeply relaxing and ultimately transformative experience. I had feared surgery for so long but after receiving Reiki, I walked into my surgery completely calm at my core.

My Reiki Energy Journey

When we returned to Southern California in 2019, after 2 years of living in the RV (with two kids, two dogs and a fish), I was excited to explore Reiki. It feels like, and did since day one, my greatest tool for stress relief and self-mastery. I am a Certified Usui Reiki Ryoho Reiki Master. I practice daily and continue to layer on new modalities including: crystal healing, aura clearing, guided meditation and more!

I see clients over the phone/zoom through “Distance Reiki” and in-person at SageSanctuary in Wildomar, CA. Check out their Workshop page to see my upcoming workshops too!

Art as a healing practice

My other passion is art! I had the chance to explore watercolor on the road as well rekindle my love for visual arts as a meditative practice and means of creative self-expression. I feel so fortunate that I now get t to live my dream and combine art and Reiki with my clients.

I’m proud to say that I have completed the Social Emotional Arts on a Shoestring Facilitator Training through the UCLA Arts and Healing.

Receiving Reiki during my diagnosis made such an impact on my life that I want to bring that same peace to others. I volunteer at Michelle’s Place Cancer Resource Center in Temecula, CA giving Reiki to newly diagnosed patients and leading them in Sacred Art circles.
